Q: What does an average day as a Speedpay Project Manager look like?

MK: It’s pretty busy! Each Project Manager is constantly juggling requests from clients, working on projects and staying on top of everything that’s going on. We have to be sure to give each of our clients the appropriate level of attention, so we work very hard to respond to them within a day of receiving a request. It’s a lot of emails, a lot of phone calls and a lot of documentation!

Q: What is something you or your team is doing that you’re proud of?

MK: The piece we’re all very focused on right now is Speedpay’s conversion to the Next Generation platform. Project Management is playing a key role, along with IT and Product, in its design and rollout, and now we’re spending a lot of time transitioning each of our clients to it.

Q: What’s the most interesting thing going on in the mobile payments world right now?

MK: The smart devices out there! Whether it’s an Apple watch or Amazon’s Alexa, there are more and more payment options opening up and making their way into the mobile payments space. Everything in this industry is headed in that direction, and it’s exciting thinking about how we can make these payment options work for our clients in the future.

Q: What do you love about your job?

MK: I really like solving problems. Even though you hope a problem never arises, they inevitably do, and I love being that person who’s able to find a solution for a client.
